STARBOOKS Bridges S&T Learning For IP Schools In Tubungan, Iloilo

DOST-developed S&T information system, STARBOOKS or the Science & Technology Academic and Research‐Based Openly‐Operated Kiosk System, was provided to indigenous peoples (IP) schools in Tubungan, Iloilo.
On March 8, 2024, representatives from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) VI Iloilo Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) conducts the turn-over and training of STARBOOKS to Igtuble Integrated School, Victoria Integrated School, and Igpaho Elementary School. The activity, funded through DOST’s Community Empowerment thru S&T (CEST) Program, aims to empower the indigenous cultural communities in the municipality by giving them free and better access to S&T information.
Attending the event were Hon. Leo Cezar T. Taypen, Vice Mayor of Tubugan, Juan G. Gepullano, Public Schools District Supervisor of Tubungan, Aldren Dalisay, Officer-in-Charge of Southern Iloilo Community Service Center National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (CSC NCIP), Emelyn E. Tano, CEST Project Leader, elders in the communities, and the Punong Barangays.(NGPorcal/IloiloPSTO)
