TOLEDO CITY SCHOOLS RECEIVE DOST DIGITAL LIB

The Department of Science and Technology Region VII, through the Provincial Science and Technology Office of Cebu, successfully installed and deployed two (2) units of STARBOOKS digital libraries or kiosks to Fulgencio Dolino Elementary School and Awihao National High School located in Toledo City, Cebu.
This initiative was funded through the DOST GIA Project with TUFFWOW Corporation to provide the students in Toledo City a wide access to S&T information in digital form. This endeavor aims to assist the school to modify and better equip itself to teach in the new normal.
The school heads, teachers, and the IT in charge for the said schools have undergone training and hands-on demonstration conducted by the DOST 7 team to teach them the operation and utilization of STARTBOOKS last October 24, 2022.
This was followed by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and a turnover ceremony spearheaded by Engr. Alger S. Loyal, Jr. of Provincial Science and Technology Office – Cebu, Mr. Roger M. Antopina, President of TUFFWOW Corporation, and Mr. Manuel B. Docor of TUFFWOW Corporation.
Awihao National High School was represented by their School Principal Georgina C. Villamor while Mr. Gleen Dolino represented Fulgencio Dolino Elementary School during the MOU signing.
STARBOOKS aims to answer the province’s main concern regarding connectivity. Due to its limited access to the internet, STARBOOKS is capable of offering them unlimited access to academic resources without the need for an internet connection.
