DOST Awards CIT University Not Just Once But Twice!

For the second time around since STARBOOKS was installed in CIT Library in 2014, the DOST-STII (Science and Technology Information Institute) awards CIT University with “The Most Functional STARBOOKS STAKEHOLDERS in Cebu Province”. STARBOOKS stands for “Science and Technology Academic and Research Openly Operated Kiosks”. The award was handed by Region 7 DOST Director Jesus F. Zamora to CIT University Librarian Mrs. Rainera C. Boholst during the 2022 STARBOOKS STAKEHOLDER’s Convention at DepEd, Ecotech Center, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.
The first award was given during the 2018 STARBOOKS stakeholders’ conventions at Palo, Leyte, where CIT University Library was recognized as among the Top 5 STARBOOKS Beneficiaries with high utilization rates. STARBOOKS databases now include learning materials from Elementary to College. Thesis and dissertations are now available in STARBOOKS and accessible online and even on android phones. In CIT University, the top university in Cebu, STARBOOKS is linked to our Online Public Access Catalog, making it accessible 24/7 outside the campus.
