March 11, 2026 – The residents of the Regional Haven for Women and Girls now have access to science and technology learning resources through the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosks (STARBOOKS) program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

During the training facilitated by the DOST Batangas last March 6, 2026, the staff and residents of the center were guided in navigating the platform to access information including exploring its interactive lessons and games.

According to Erica Bianca Anog, Teacher I at the Regional Haven for Women and Girls, the STARBOOKS will be a big help for the residents, particularly in ensuring that they continue to expand their knowledge on science, technology, livelihood, and health all throughout their stay at the center.

The Regional Haven for Women and Girls, located in Rosario, Batangas, is a facility managed by the DSWD Field Office IV-A providing rehabilitative services to women and girls, including their dependents, who are victim-survivors of different forms of abuse.

Last February 16, 2026, the DSWD Field Office IV-A and the DOST CALABARZON signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the use of the STARBOOKS at the said center as well as collaboration for other initiatives aimed at helping in the rehabilitation of the center’s residents through education and technology.
