The University of Southern Mindanao's Kundo E. Pahm Learning Resource Center (KEPLRC) conducted the Kapehan sa Aklatan and the Launching of the Department of Science and Technology DOST-STARBOOKS on June 12, 2026, at the USM Main Campus in Kabacan, Cotabato.

During the launch, DOST SOCCSKSARGEN presented and demonstrated the key features and functions of STARBOOKS (Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk System) to KEPLRC library staff, faculty members, and students.

The demonstration highlighted STARBOOKS as a digital, offline repository of science and technology (S&T) information, containing thousands of resources such as e-books, journals, instructional videos, and reference materials in the fields of science, agriculture, health, engineering, and innovation. Emphasis was given on its value in supporting teaching, learning, research, and extension services.

Through this activity, USM and DOST reaffirm their shared commitment to enhancing information access, fostering a culture of research and innovation, and empowering students and educators with reliable S&T knowledge resources.
