The Department of Science and Technology–Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII), together with BPI Foundation and in coordination with DOST CARAGA and DOST–Surigao del Norte, officially turned over a STARBOOKS unit to Tapi-An Elementary School in Mainit on December 1, 2025. Engr. Roger Abucejo of DOST–Surigao del Norte conducted the onsite installation, orientation and hands-on demonstration to guide teachers and administrators in maximizing the country’s first offline digital science library. This initiative strengthens STEM learning, promotes digital inclusion and provides students with reliable access to thousands of science and technology resources even without internet connectivity.
