Significant milestone in advancing digital education was celebrated during the 2025 Regional Science and Technology Week in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). In a ceremonial event held at Albergo Hotel, Baguio City, five (5) STARBOOKS (Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated KioskS) units were officially turned over to five different schools across Ifugao, Benguet, and Mountain Province.
This initiative was made possible through the generous support of the BPI Foundation, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology โ Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) and the Department of Science and Technology โ Cordillera Administrative Region (DOST-CAR).
STARBOOKS aims to bring science, technology, and educational resources closer to learners, especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
For the Ifugao Province, three schools were beneficiaries of the program, namely, Eastern Potia National High School, Namillangan National High School and Pinto National High SchoolThese institutions are now equipped with digital tools that provide access to a wealth of scientific and educational content, greatly enhancing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics learning opportunities within their communities.
In addition to the schools in Ifugao, Ambacbac Elementary School in Mountain Province and Adoyunan Elementary School in Benguet also received STARBOOKS unitsโfurther extending the programโs reach and impact across the region.
This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to inclusive, innovative, and accessible education for all.
