In partnership with the Provincial Science and Technology Office-Batanes, the DOST-Science and Technology Information Institute and BPI Foundation turned over two computer units with routers and pods for STARBOOKS to two public schools in Basco on 03 June 2025.
This initiative seeks to enhance the learning experience of learners from Batanes National Science High School and Valugan Integrated School by providing them with free science, technology, and innovation (STI) and K-12 learning resources from STARBOOKS.
This initiative is part of BPI Foundationโs โ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐๐ -๐ฎ๐ง๐ฅ๐๐โ advocacy, which aims to build a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous Philippines. It also supports DOST-STIIโs mission of disseminating science, technology, and innovation learning resources through STARBOOKS.
The event was attended by school administrators, teachers, students, and local community members who were given an orientation and user training on how to maximize the utilization of STARBOOKS.
The event was also graced by BPI Foundation Associate Director Juvylyn Reniva, Program Manager Melanie Magbuhos, Program Coordinator Carmela Fajardo, DOST PSTO-Batanes Director Nora Garcia, and DOST Region 2 CEST Coordinator Rowena Guzman.
This third wave of donations from BPI Foundation, Inc., worth PHP 3.1 million, will enable 40 remote schools across the Philippines to access free, state-of-the-art learning resources.
