DOST Revolutionizes Education at RJDAMA Christian Academy thru Smarter Digital Learning

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 02, under the leadership of Regional Director Dr. Virginia G. Bilgera, revolutionized education at RJDAMA Christian Academy in San Jose, Gonzaga, Cagayan.

This was done through the successful installation to the institution of a smarter digital learning platform of DOST dubbed as STARBOOKS.

STARBOOKS or the Science & Technology Academic and Research‐Based Openly‐Operated

Kiosks is the first Philippine science digital library that contains hundreds of thousands of digitized science and technology resources in

text, video/audio and interactive formats.

This initiative marks DOST Region 02’s first private school partnership for the year in rolling out STARBOOKS within the Municipality of Gonzaga.

RJDAMA Christian Academy Inc., a private institution catering to elementary, junior and senior high school students, is now an official partner of DOST in advancing science-based education.

This collaboration aims to enhance the quality of science learning, foster knowledge development, and contribute to the socioeconomic growth of future science and technology (S&T) professionals.

As part of the initiative, DOST installed six STARBOOKS units for student use.

Following the installation, an orientation session was conducted to familiarize students and faculty with the features and content of STARBOOKS. As part of their commitment to maximizing its benefits, the school will submit monthly reports on its usage, ensuring its effective integration into the learning system.

Moreover, the session included hands-on training and a demonstration on how to navigate the system.

With these, the DOST Region 02 remains dedicated to expanding partnerships with schools across the region to promote access to scientific information and help bridge gaps in the education system.
