STARBOOKS Brings Digital Learning to Caraga and San Isidro Schools

The Department of Science and Technology, through its Provincial Science and Technology Office in Davao Oriental, in partnership with Davao Oriental State University, deployed and installed the Science & Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk Station (STARBOOKS) in schools in Caraga and San Isidro on November 5-6, 2024.

In Caraga, STARBOOKS was installed at Santa Fe Elementary School and Potenciano A. Mabanding Integrated School, while in San Isidro, installations took place at San Isidro Central School SPED Center, San Roque Elementary School, Manikling Elementary School, Baon Elementary School, and La Union Elementary School.

Teachers from these schools received training on using STARBOOKS and are now prepared to introduce this resource to their students, providing them with access to digital learning materials.

STARBOOKS, developed by the Science and Technology Information Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-STII), is a science digital library designed to make science and technology information accessible to the public, especially for those without Internet access. By utilizing technology and digitized resources, the program ensures that students in remote areas have access to quality educational materials, contributing to their overall development and future opportunities.
