DOST-STII Honored as FOI Champion

The Department of Science and Technology - Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) was honored as among the Freedom of Information (FOI) Champions in the 2024 FOI Awards held 25 November 2024 at Hilton Manila in Pasay City.
DOST-STII was presented a Plaque of Appreciation for its significant contribution to the development of the FOI program, which was received by its representatives Louella L. Pestaño and Jonathan D. Abalon from the Information Resources and Analysis Division.
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO), through the Freedom of Information – Program Management Office (FOI-PMO), has partnered with the Institute by providing digital copies of the FOI data collection to the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosks (STARBOOKS) to empower the citizens by protecting their right to access to information and to combat misinformation in the country.
