DOST-STII and BPI Foundation partnered yet again to install STARBOOKS in a number of remote, isolated schools in Region III.
The following schools received a complete STARBOOKS computer package with pod on a series of deployments in four provinces from August 27-29, 2024.: Lauis National Highschool in Candelaria, Zambales on August 27th, Sto. Tomas National High School in Sasmuan, Pampanga and Dueg Resettlement Elementary School in San Clemente, Tarlac on August 28th, and Pantabangan West Integrated School in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija on August 29th.
More than 2,600 elementary and high school students from the 4 schools will benefit from the thousands of K-12 and STI (science, technology, and innovation) learning resources available in STARBOOKS Offline. A total of 128 teachers can also utilize the vast repository of STARBOOKS.
All beneficiary schools received a comprehensive user orientation and training on how to effectively utilize STARBOOKS conducted by STARBOOKS deployment officers from Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) - Zambales, PSTO-Pampanga, PSTO-Tarlac, and PSTO-Nueva Ecija with support from DOST Region III.
This initiative is part of DOST-STII’s mission of disseminating science, technology, and innovation learning resources through STARBOOKS.
This also supports BPI Foundation’s “Kasama Lahat sa Pag-unlad” advocacy, aiming to build a sustainable, inclusive, and financially-well Philippines.
This second round of donations from the BPI Foundation, worth PHP 2.1 million, enables 30 remote schools across the Philippines to access free, state-of-the-art learning resources.
