DOST-STII, BPI Foundation Bring STARBOOKS to Region VII Schools

DOST-Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) and the BPI Foundation Inc., have partnered to bring STARBOOKS to select schools in Eastern Visayas on a turnover ceremony at Luntad Elementary School in Palo, Leyte, on 01 August 2024.
The six recipient schools of STARBOOKS-equipped computer packages are Luntad Elementary School in Palo, Leyte; Pulang Yuta Elementary School in Caibiran, Biliran; Hanginan Elementary School in Maasin City, Southern Leyte; Cuyting Uy National High School in Jiabong, Samar; Eugenio S. Daza Pilot Elementary School in Borongan City, Eastern Samar; and Galutan National High School in Catarman, Northern Samar.
The beneficiary schools received comprehensive user orientation and training on the effective utilization of the STARBOOKS system.
This initiative is part of the BPI Foundation’s “Kasama Lahat sa Pag-unlad” advocacy, which aims to build a sustainable, inclusive, and financially well Philippines. It also supports DOST-STII’s mission of disseminating science, technology, and innovation learning resources through STARBOOKS.
This second round of donations from BPI Foundation, Inc., worth PHP 2.1 million, will enable 30 remote schools across the Philippines to access free, state-of-the-art learning resources.
