DOST-STII, BPI Foundation Bring STARBOOKS to Region V Schools

The DOST-Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII), in collaboration with BPI Foundation Inc., delivered two STARBOOKS-equipped computer packages to Balogo National High School (BNHS) and Sorsogon Pilot Elementary School (SPES) in Region V on July 25 and 26, respectively.

The turnover rites were conducted in partnership with DOST Region V and the Albay Provincial Science and Technology Office.

In his message, Engr. Domingo Peña Jr., Provincial Director of PSTO Albay, emphasized that STARBOOKS can be a valuable tool for the 1,000+ learners of Balogo National High School, helping them to develop 21st-century skills essential for their future careers.

Both beneficiary schools received a comprehensive user orientation and training on how to effectively utilize STARBOOKS.

This initiative is part of the BPI Foundation’s “Kasama Lahat sa Pag-unlad” advocacy, aiming to build a sustainable, inclusive, and financially-well Philippines. It also supports DOST-STII’s mission of disseminating science, technology, and innovation learning resources through STARBOOKS.

This second round of donations from the BPI Foundation, worth PHP 2.1 million, will enable 30 remote schools across the Philippines to access free, state-of-the-art learning resources.
