Partnership in Championing Science Education up to the Last Mile!

Chevron Holdings, Inc. and the Department of Science and Technology-Region 3 joined forces in setting up Pilien Elementary School with a digital offline library on 15 July 2024. This project was solidified with the inking of the Deed of Donations for the generous provision of 20 pre-loved laptops for identified schools in Central Luzon wherein STARBOOKs will be installed.

The hand-over activity was attended by Chevron Holdings, Inc. as represented by their Corporate Affairs Manager, Ms. Arlita T. Narag and Yshee Babali, their Culture and Engagement Specialist. The Department of Science and Technology Region 3 was represented by Tarlac Provincial S & T Director Ms. Karen Y. Dañez and Ms. Cristina T. Isla, the team's STARBOOKS deployment officer. The Head Teacher of Pilien Elementary School, Mr. Cyril E. Dionida, was present to receive the generous donations.

This activity will enable last-mile schools, such as Pilien Elementary School, to have access to the wealth of knowledge that STARBOOKS can offer. With Pilien Elementary School, STARBOOKS hits its 85th installation in the province of Tarlac.

In preparation for the upcoming school year, Chevron Holdings, Inc. and its employees also donated school and office supplies for the students and faculty of Pilien Elementary School.
