DOST-Davao Deploys STARBOOKS to Various Locations in Davao City

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Davao, through its Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated KioskS (STARBOOKS) program, has recently deployed All-in-One computer units equipped with STARBOOKS digital libraries to various locations in Davao City. This initiative is part of DOST XI’s Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) program.

The first deployment was to Bantol National High School in Barangay Bantol, Marilog District, Davao City.

Following this, on May 20, STARBOOKS units were deployed to the Office of Barangay Salaysay, also located in the Marilog District of Davao City. This installation is intended to serve the local community, offering valuable digital resources that can aid in education and various community development initiatives.

The most recent deployment took place today at the Office of Barangay Sirib in the Calinan District, Davao City. Similar to the previous deployments, this initiative is aimed at enhancing the local community’s access to scientific knowledge and educational materials through the STARBOOKS digital library.

By equipping schools and community offices with digital libraries, DOST aims to bridge the digital divide and foster a more knowledgeable and empowered citizenry in Davao City.
