DepEd SDO Kidapawan Inks MOA with DOST XII to Install STARBOOKS across Kidapawan City's DepEd Schools

ππ’πππ©ππ°ππ§ ππ’ππ², ππ¨π«ππ‘ ππ¨ππππππ¨βTo boost science literacy and provide students with access to a wealth of knowledge in science and technology, the DepEd Tayo Kidapawan City joined hands with the DOST XII - Department of Science and Technology - Region XII in a momentous Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Program on May 16, 2024.
This agreement seeks to capacitate the Department of Education (DepEd) teachers and students to use DOST-STARBOOKS, the first digital library in a box developed by DOST-Science and Technology Information Institute. Led by Regional Director Engr. Sammy Malawan, through Provincial Director PD Michael Ty Mayo, the DOST XII envisions that every DepEd school in Kidapawan City will have access to STARBOOKS to advance the learning experience for students within the city.
STARBOOKS, recognized as the national winner of the 2022 CSC Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, is also part of the National Priority Plan (NPP) of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), underlining its significance in advancing education and research nationwide.
Furthermore, the event also drew the participation of key figures, including Schools Division Superintendent Miguel Fillalan, Jr., CESO V, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Jasmin P. Isla, and Curriculum and Implementation Division Chief Ronela Molina.
This MOA signing program is a testament to the collective commitment of educators, policymakers, and stakeholders to prioritize science literacy and education. As STARBOOKS takes root in Kidapawan City schools, it promises to inspire curiosity and unlock the boundless potential of young minds.
