As part of its Science Beyond Borders campaign, which aims to open new opportunities by ensuring access to Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) information to all regardless of faith or background. The DOST-NCR, through its MUNTAPARLAS Clustered Area Science and Technology Office (CASTO), deployed the DOST-developed Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosks (STARBOOKS) system to Muslim communities in Maharlika Village, Taguig, through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed with the Taha M. Basman Memorial Islamic Foundation, Inc. last 21 February 2025, at the TMLC Building, Maharlika Road, Taguig City.

Present at the MOA signing were Mr. Kim L. Atienza, Officer-In-Charge and Supervising Science Research Specialist of DOST-NCR MUNTAPARLAS CASTO, Ms. Nelia S. Basman, Executive Director of TMLC, Ms. Anna Tajannah S. Basman, Head of Community Initiatives at TMLC, and Ms. Aida A. Mistul, TMLC School Principal.

Following the MOA signing, students, teachers, and staff of TMLC were given an orientation on how to operate and maximize the use of the STARBOOKS to support teachers and students’ learning. This digital library contains thousands of scientific journals, books, references, and other science and technology resources in especially designed "pods" with a user-friendly interface. It also includes DepEd competency-based learning materials aligned with the Grades 1 to 12 curriculum.
