DOST-Bicol Expands Learning Opportunities with STARBOOKS at Bote Integrated School

DOST-CATANDUANES IN ACTION | 09 AUGUST 2024

DOST-Bicol, through its Provincial Science and Technology Office-Catanduanes (PSTO-Catanduanes), has turned over the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated KioskS (STARBOOKS) at Bote Integrated School in Bato, Catanduanes. This project, as part of the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) program, aims to broaden access to critical scientific and educational materials for the local community.

STARBOOKS, a standalone digital kiosk, offers offline access to a comprehensive range of scientific articles, research papers, and educational videos, providing a vital resource for areas with limited internet connectivity.

To facilitate effective use of the kiosk, PSTO-Catanduanes conducted an orientation and hands-on training for 51 participants, including students and faculty members.
